Are you feeling …

…stressed or overwhelmed?
…stuck or out of alignment?
…burned out or of low energy?

Are you concerned about…

…your ability to perform to your usual personal or professional standard?
…your lack of concentration, memory or learning difficulties?
…social isolation, an urge to withdraw from social activities or communicational challenges?
…unexplainable moodiness, depression, constant fatigue, allergic reactions or rashes, eczema or itches?
…reduced libido, temper or frustration, feelings of loneliness or not being worthy?
…hallucination, sleeplessness or nightmares?

If you recognise some of the above symptoms in your life, here are the good news:

Your body, mind and spirit are giving you signals that either or all of them are out of balance and need some time (and maybe support) to even themselves out. In order to do that it is important to have a rest, listen to your self talk, observe your emotions and look at the signals of your body. That way the relevant part can do its work, respectively all three work together symbiotically.

The real reason for an imbalance of body, mind and spirit always comes back to one of three causes:

physical stress (tensions and blockages in your body)

mental stress (draining thoughts and limiting beliefs that seem to run around in circles, drag you down and make you feel powerless, weak or tired)

spiritual/emotional stress (when you seem to be controlled by your emotions rather than being in control of them, when there is a conflict in your values or a lack of purpose)

Often a stress in one area is the reason for tension or blockages in another, because they are interconnected and feed from each other.

This is why Transition Guidance looks at the whole person and offers a holistic approach to reducing stress, improving your overall wellbeing and supporting relaxation for the body, the mind and the spirit.

S – Specific and Simple

Make it simple and specific. “I don’t want to be alone” is a simple statement, but it is far from being specific. With goal setting it is important to say what you want, not what you don’t want.

Have you ever heard the expression “What you focus on is what you get”? That’s what Specific and Simple is about: Say not what you don’t want, but what you want. Focus on the positive.

How would you like not to be alone? Do you want a partner, a lover, children, grand children, a friend, be part of a club or the community? What do you want, specifically?

M – Measurable

This one goes hand in hand with the one above. “I want more money” is simple, positive and more or less specific, but it is not measurable. How much is more? Is it one dollar or 10, 100 or thousands?

Make sure there is a number involved. In case it can’t be measured by numbers, imagine a scale from 1-10, where 10 is where you want to be. What are the criteria that need to be fulfilled for you to be at a 10? Write them down as a tick-off list.

A – Achievable and Attainable by you, As if now

Again, make it your goal, one that you can achieve by yourself. It is not about your partner, family, child or the world, it is not someone else’s goal, it is yours!

Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present. – Babatunde Olatunji

Some languages haven’t even got grammar for future or past. They totally live in the here and now. Use present tense when you write down your goal. “I am…, I have…” are the most powerful words on earth, in any language.

R – Realistic

If you have set goals before and not achieved them, maybe they have been set too high. Making a million in a year could be a bit challenging if you are earning 50.000 a year and have no savings and no plan.

On the other side, if you have always achieved your goals without effort, it may be time to challenge your self. Stretch a little further than comfortable, you will grow into it.

T – Time frame

Give your goal a time frame, have a date involved. “By December 31st 2010 …” or “the 15th of May2015…” will make your goal even more measurable, specific and easy to plan for.

I – Inspirational

Often money comes up in goal setting. But is it really about the money? I don’t think so. Generally it is about what you can or want to do with the money. What is it that inspires you to get up? What motivates you to persevere when times get tough?

When a goal is not about money but what really inspires you, you may suddenly find other ways to achieve it.

Be open and allow the universe or God to provide for you in whatever way they may think is appropriate. Extend your opportunities by making your goal inspirational.

E – Evidence and Endstep

What is the final thing that needs to happen for you to know that you have achieved your goal? What is the picture that you see, what do you hear or tell yourself, how do you feel?

What is the evidence that proofs you have made it? For example when do you know you have lost enough weight? Is it when you see a certain number standing on your scale? When you fit in your favourite dress or pants? When you have achieved a certain fat percentage? Or when the tape measure shows a specific number?

Make your Evidence and Endstep very clear and involve as many senses as possible: see, hear, feel, smell or taste your success.

Transition Guidance will have new premises. Before we can move, we have to set up the place to create a space for our clients to be free e who they are and to prepare the ground to ‘learn a new choreography’ for each individual ‘dance of life’.

It is going to be a space, that is more than just a room defined by walls. It is a ‘dance floor’, where you can let go of what is holding you back, connect to new or hidden resources within you that you have not discovered yet and finally start to create your new future with inspiration and empowerment.

Let me ask you a question first:

What is your perception?

For some people, seeing a coach is something they would never do, because

a) they are the lonely wolves, who want to do it all by themselves
b) it would be like going to a psychiatrist (“where you go when you need to be fixed”)
c) they think they can’t afford it
d) they don’t feel worthy or important enough or
e) they have no idea how they could benefit from having a coach

To be blunt and honest: if someone belongs to one or several points from a) to d), coaching would be perfect, because those beliefs, which are neither supportive nor motivating, can be easily changed through simple strategies that are in the repertoire of any good coach.

In regards to the benefits – assuming that you found the coach that fits your expectations, the result is the same as it is with networking:
What you get out of it is in direct proportion to what you put in. If you come with a “we’ll see”-attitude, you will get “we’ll see” results. If you are committed to doing what it takes to get where you want, that is exactly where you’ll go.

Coaching is about supporting you to take on leadership over all parts of your life. To take on responsibility for your actions and non-actions and to be comfortable with it, knowing, you do the best you can. It is about offering choice where you could not see alternatives before and finding answers where you did not even have the questions you need to move forward. Coaching is about allowing you to see further than you would dare to and prepare you to pass the obstacles that may arise on your way to get there.

Why do athletes have coaches? What do they get out of it?

[Tony Robbins'] coaching has made a remarkable difference in my life, both on and off the court. He’s helped me discover what I’m really made of and he has enable me to see things from an empowering new vantage point.
With Tony’s help I set new standards for myself and taken my tennis game – and my life – to a whole new level. [...]

This is what Serena Williams, 8-times Grand slam winner and Gold medallist, got from being coached by Tony Robbins.
Does Tony know anything about tennis? Well, definitely not more than Serena.
Did he ‘make’ her anything? Not at all.
Did he support her? Definitely!
Could someone as successful as her still improve? Obviously.

If people like Serena Williams, Tiger Woods, Andrew Agassi and so many others, who already have a life others dream of get benefit from coaching – do you think there is something in it for you?
